Getting a life...line!

For two days now, the agent at a certain telecommunication company incessantly calls my antique mobile phone (which is ready to be displayed in a museum) encouraging me to get hooked up with their line. By then, I realized that I should make some notes on the pros and cons of getting a mobile phone line in order for me to decide whether to make a deal or noodle (courtesy of Manny Pacquiao). And I came up with this:

Pros

1. Free calls and text messages
2. No hassle on credit loading
3. Free Phone ( a high end one)

Cons

1. Additional monthly bill
2. Higher risk of phone snatching
3. Lesser number to text, since most of my friends use other telecom company's SIM card.

And my final verdict..

I am still undecided. I have to consult first.

I don't want to advertise for some telcos, but I am subscribed (line) both with globe and smart. globe has hidden charges, but smart plan is inclusive of all charges.

IMO, the only disadvantage is the lock in period of 2 years. However, if you are dead sure of your monthly expense/consumption, having a line is more convenient, cheaper and with FREE phone.

One piece of advise though, go for the consumable plans, not the ordinary ones.
